Alabama Skills USA in collaboration with AIDT and Central Six AlabamaWorks presents our annual Career Expo on April 19, 2017. This year we are inviting 8th grade students from across the Birmingham metropolitan area to visit the expo for a hands-on interactive career exploration experience. We are working to host an industry-led initiative that pulls together more than 50 regional companies to develop, staff and present the “World’s of Work”. Each World is led by a chairperson, called a “World Leader,” who engages companies within the respective industry to create the central element of the expo – the hands-on activities. Worlds will engage partners, identify careers to highlight, and create hands-on interactions that link careers to the classroom. Visiting the event for just under two hours, students pick their favorites of the Worlds to visit and learn about careers available close to home. This year’s expo will represent: Construction, Advanced Manufacturing, Healthcare, Hospitality & Tourism, Information Technology and Public Service & Safety.
We invite your participation at no cost!
Details: The event will take place at the BJCC – North Exhibition hall on April 19th , 2017 with set up April 18th, 2017. We are requesting that all participating companies host an interactive activity at their booth.
